✺ Frequently asked questions ✺
-
Not at all! Martial Arts 101 is tailored for beginners of all fitness levels and includes easy-to-follow instructions. If you happen to have martial arts experience but haven't trained in a while, this is the perfect jumpstart to getting you back on the mat!
-
The techniques found in Martial Arts 101 come from a karate background (mainly American Kenpo & Sports Karate). You may find techniques similar to taekwondo and even Muay Thai here, as AJ loves to cross-train and share techniques that improved her martial arts overall!
-
We advocate cross-training! Many martial arts share similar techniques, so while they might not be 100% the same, you may learn a new method for the same technique. This course will strengthen your martial arts fitness so that no matter what style you do, you'll be punching and kicking better and stronger!
-
You don't need much space or equipment to practice! If you have at least enough space to lay on the floor and swing your arms and legs around, you can follow along easily. As for equipment, if you have something sturdy (i.e. wall, door frame, chair), and mat/padding (i.e. thick towel, old pillow) nearby, you'll be set. Nothing you can't find lying around the house and use with a little creativity.
